Where are toxic chemicals hiding?

You're a savvy customer, you know all about toxins in conventional perfumes, which is why you found us! You know that clean perfume is the way to go when it comes to high end perfumes.

There are over 3000 chemicals that can be used under the umbrella term "parfum" and perfume companies do not have to disclose what's in the formula. That's why we started our natural perfume company Recreation Bondi Beach - to give you a clean, healthy perfume that doesn't have any toxic chemicals in it.

The issue is, there is perfume in almost every single product you use.

Body wash. Hand wash. Deodorant. Body Lotion. Moisturiser. Eye cream. Hand cream. Shampoo. Conditioner. Cleanser. Serum. Face Exfoliant. Soap. Body Exfoliant. Face masks. Sunscreen. Fake Tan. Foundation. Concealer. Blush. Bronzer. Contour sticks. Eyeshadow. Lipstick. Laundry Powder. Cleaning products. It's in EVERYTHING.

Now think about how many of these things you use every day. How many other harmful chemicals they have in them. And how these toxins accumulate in your body.

Many of these toxins - like phthalates and synthetic musks - are called "persistent" which means they don't break down in your body or in the environment when they get washed down the drain.

They keep their molecular structure causing everything from mood swings and weight gain to reproductive issues, they can prevent the full development of the male reproductive organs in unborn foetuses (if you're pregnant) and can help trigger serious auto immune diseases and chronic health disorders.

These are also the chemicals that help perfume last a long time. So don't be fooled into thinking that your expensive perfume is fantastic if it sits on your skin for 36 hours. They're actually cheap synthetic ingredients that are dangerous.

What will your clean beauty swaps this year?
